James Lockhart, our founder, and manager has significant experience in the self-storage market. A graduate of The University of South Carolina Moore School of Business, Mr. Lockhart has been involved in all facets of acquiring, developing, managing, and liquidating self-storage assets. His experience dates back to his college Finance senior project in 2001 hypothetically underwriting, developing and completing a self-storage property development in Columbia, SC. Mr. Lockhart has been involved in raising significant amounts of self-storage capital through his prior firm Harbor Light Securities, LLC a prior registered broker-dealer. Through Harbor Light Securities, LLC, Mr. Lockhart directed the placement of over $350mm in capital funding through various vehicles including, private placements, non traded real estate investment trusts, and public debt issues. Currently, Mr. Lockhart is involved in approximately 1,200,000 square feet of ground up development , acquisitions and operating self-storage assets including assets through affiliates Lockhart Capital LLC a private fund advisor and 3L Capital LLC, General Partner to MSSP II LLC.

Lockhart Management Group outside counsel is involved in all levels of our business from entitlement, contracts, closings, general legal, project execution and eventual property level disposition. Our legal team has had significant self storage experience throughout the US.

Our brand is Lockhart Storage Centers. After working with a Third Party Manager we determined that self management is the key to success. Self Storage is a personal business and no-one treats its tenants better than the owner. We strive to provide a safe, generous and professional environment for our tenants by building high quality construction, a complimentary moving truck, boxes, lock, and as well as other complimentary items with a friendly management philosophy.
